Personal and Academic Life of Dr. Asim
Dr. Asim’s father Akshay Kumar Saha was as a well known man in Jhalkathi. Among the 11 children of Akshay Kumar Dr. Asim was ninth. He was born on 4th February in 1960. He started his school from kindergarten level in Masjid Bari School in Jhalokathi. Then he went to Pouro Adarsha Bidyaloy. Passed Secondary from Jhalakathi Government Boys High School in 1976 and stood first in his centre. Then in 1978, he again passed the higher secondary from Jhalkathi Mohabidyaloy as the first in the center. He obtained MBBS degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College in January 1985.
Before taking admission in the MBBS course, he took the first place in the admission test in the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics of Dhaka University. He has topped every exam in his class before.
On February 24, 1992 Dr. Asim Kumar Saha married Anjali Rani Saha.

Career at a Glance
Dr. Asim started serving patients in Jhalkathi city in 1988 through his employment at Khan Medical House. After the closure of the House, he started his own chamber. Then, in 2009, he joined the Pediatric Department of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College as an Assistant Professor. Then became Associate Professor and then Professor. He retired in February 2020 as the Head of Department.
He spends a part of his income in charitable work unsparingly. He extended his helping hand and financial assistance to the people in various ways including construction of science rooms in schools, construction of buildings in places of worship, distribution of free treatment and medicines on different days. Built Asimanjali Foundation. Donated one-time 15 lakh taka of his pension to this foundation, through which the talented students of the school and the elderly of the society can be helped.
In the suburbs of Jhalokathi along with Kamala Shishu Kalyan Primary School named after his mother he also built Tirtho Nibash, Bhokto Nibash in various temples.
